Update

Hey!  I've fallen off the face of the earth!  Sorry!

My laptop is once again (DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THAT AGAIN) is in the shop.  Possibly from me throwing it off a 14 story building.  Okay, so maybe only in my fantasies. hehee...I hate that thing!
I am writing from J's computer, which is hard to get onto between him and the boys fighting over it! 

Not much to share today, lots of stuff going on at Joey's school, a couple projects and oh yea!  Joey's teacher finally got him tested for the gifted program and surprised us all by placing out of Kindergarten and into Second Grade!  How cool is that?!  He is such a smart cookie and we are so proud of him.  He is going to get some special work in the classroom and more one on one time with his teacher until the end of the school year and then next year will be a part of the gifted program that starts in first grade.  We made a decision a couple years back when we realized that he was very smart that we wouldn't want him to skip a grade.  I have known and heard people say that it did more damage than good to their child emotionally and socially to have them skip.  Do you have any experience in this?

What else have we been up to?  Hmmmm....well Sunday we went to the zoo with our friends John, Jana and baby Burton and had a great time!  Then Monday I babysat little Burton for John while he worked.  It was so fun (and exhausting!) to have another little baby in the house!  It was like a glimpse of what life would be like if Lily had been a twin!  Burton was great though, and ended up really clicking with Jake!  It was so cute, he kept climbing on Jake's back and hugging him.  At one point they snuggled up together under Jake's blankey and Burton almost fell asleep!  So cute!

Oh!  I also forgot to share that I got two layouts picked up for Scrapbook Trends!  One is for the September Issue and the other is for their Holiday Idea Book!  I'm so psyched! 

So, Monday is my birthday, the big 25!  LOL!  We are planning on celebrating on Friday at weekly poker night with my friend Jana, who's birthday is the day before mine, so we'll have a double celebration....then Sunday we're heading over to my parents house for my bday dinner.  I feel old this year.  LOL....I always feel older than my birthday though.  I feel like this year should be 35 not 25!  I think it's just because a lot has happened in the last 7 years! 

So that's what's up with me!  I am knee deep in my May projects for My Little Shoebox, and they are turning out CUTE!  I can't wait to share them! 

Oh!  And I hope you are voting for my boyfriend on American Idol!  He's gonna win!! I just know it!

Thank You.

For the support.  For the kind words of encouragement, the comments here and the emails with your unfortunately similar stories.  I really appreciate you all.  But it's time to move on to happier things. 

I went to post a goodbye to my friends still left on that message board I spoke of, and found that I have been muted by whomever moderates the board.  Funny they felt the need to mute me when I never mentioned them by name, but I guess that's what happens when people start to become afraid of the truth.  But I digress.

So.

Here I am, looking forward.  Excited by the future and it's possibilities.

Really looking forward to taking off for the weekend with the hubs.  We are heading out tomorrow morning and will be back Sunday afternoon.  The perfect mini vacay.  Just what I need.

You were Eleven Months Old when you met your Papa Chuck and Grandma Jennifer for the first time.  They were so excited to finally meet you, their only granddaughter!  You all hit it off immediately!  We are so lucky to have visits with Papa and Grandma!

Your Laugh

Lily, your laugh is the sweetest sound in the whole world!  There are many things that make you laugh; getting tickled on your chubby thighs, or under or chin...you laugh when your big brothers make silly faces at you, or when Molly comes up and licks you!  You also laugh when Mommy or Daddy steal your binky and put it in our mouths or when we put bunny friends' ears to our nose like you do!  We sure love having a happy, silly, baby girl like you!

Album Tutorial

Hey..Here is a little tutorial I have posted on the MAA Blog...

Creating An Awesome Album With "Left-Overs"!

If you are like me, you have leftover bits and pieces of your acrylic albums hanging around...I always save a page or two out of my albums,and they definitely come in handy later!

Here is the formula to making an awesome album of leftovers!

Grab up whatever leftover acrylic pages you have on hand....I happened to have 2 sheets of 8x8, 2 sheets of 6x6, and two 6x6 tabbed pages...I ended up choosing the four 6x6 pages...

Then, to supplement extra pages, I used four 6x6 squares of patterned Overlays.  (2 of each pattern)

Once I decided the order I wanted my pages to go, (Mine is: Acrylic, Overlay, Acrylic, Overlay etc...) I decided on a theme.  I wanted to make my album a travel journal documenting my trip to CHA this past summer, so I chose travel themed papers and embellishments from American Crafts.

I cut 6x6 squares of my travel themed paper to supplement my album as well...to bind it, I used blue binding rings I found at target...

For the journaling, I decided I wanted to give my album a very structured, more uniformed look, so I typed all my journaling and adhered it to the right side pages of the album.  Each journaling block represents a different topic in the album.

Inside my album I added ephemera and souvenirs from my trip including buttons from the show, the hotel key from my hotel room, my show badges and my plane ticket!

Hey all...

This week's challenge is up at The Design Experiment!  Check it out, it's a doozy!

Here is my layout for the challenge:

This ended up being so completely therapeutic for me. I sat down at my desk to write this letter 
while everyone was out of the house. Just me and my thoughts. As the thoughts poured onto the 
paper, it was a huge release. I also included letters to my husband and children just in case, God 
Forbid, I'm not here in 2013.


 


I had so much fun with this layout! I used some pink glimmer mist and a Heidi Swapp
mask to make patter on the background...Lot of American Crafts goodies on here too!

This is toddler me...with my "Blankie" I used to carry this ratty old thing around with
me everywhere!

Oh, and look! I have a baby mullett!


 
 
 I used the Sept Scarlet Lime kit and a Jenni Bowlin shaped paper on this one...I'm 
beginning to scrap my vintage pics a lot more now, and I love how this one turned 
out!

My Acrylic Album

I'm so excited to be working with these amazing companies!  Both of them were started by a woman with a dream, and I am so honored to be a part of their visions! 

I also made it to the top 20 Scrappers in The Last Scrapper Standing at Create My Keepsake!  I'm way excited!!!  The second challenge is going to be a toughie though!  I have to find a T-Shirt slogan or saying and create a card or altered item using the slogan as a title, or somewhere in the project!  Isn't that hard!?  I've been looking all day at T-Shirts, and have yet to find the "Perfect" one!  Anyone have any ideas?! 

I can't believe how many great scrappy things have happened this week!

In other greatness...we found out today that we got the house that we wanted!!!  Our new house is in a gated community, which I am sooo stoked about...and the backyard is perfect...it's fully fenced, and get this: there is a gate, and when you open it, you are INSIDE a park.  There is a HUGE community park and playground, literally in our backyard!  The elementary school is just up the road..almost withing walking distance!  It's BEAUTIFUL and a brand new school! I can't wait for Joey to start Kindergarten there! 

Anyway, my face hurts a bit from all the smiling!  LOL!

How was your weekend?  I spent mine scrappin'!  I'm still furiously working on my entry for SOY, and am getting more and more nervous as the deadline draws near!

James took the boys to the Zoo, and the the Children's Museum on Saturday, so me and little Miss Lil stayed home and scrapped!  It was a very relaxing day, and probably one of the most quiet days I have experienced in MONTHS!  LOL!

So, I have had an incredibly busy and fulfilling week scrapwise!  I have gotten a lot of layouts done, I am finished with my projects for the AMM DT call, and am working on some new products for C&T Publishing!  Whew!  Having James working nights makes me miss him, but it sure gives me a lot of time during the day and at night to scrap! 

I hope the next coming week is as prosperous!
