Hey all, it's been a few too many days since I blogged..sorry!
I have been having a lot of fun with the family lately...we went to the Children's Museum on Valentine's day, and also saw Avatar in 3D....on Sunday my mom came over and we played! We made cards and I did a layout, it was great to see Mom...love our talks. <3
I'm still working hard on the Challenges, and I have a couple to share today!
Challenge #5 was to use a print design as inspiration, so here was my inspiration:
the words just spoke to me, and immediately made me think of a certain picture of me and Mr. Jones on a vacation we took last year. Here's what I came up with:
I love how simple this one came out, I just really wanted the focal point to be this photo. I seriously LOVE this photo. (And would you guess it was taken in a dark hotel with a DISPOSABLE camera?! ) Just one of those happy accidents. :-)
The word COZY is stickled with copper stickles, in case you were wondering. :-)
Challenge #6, was all about using a specific time as the focal point of your layout. I knew exactly what time I wanted to use immediately. 2:46 pm, the time my entire day revolves around.
I wanted again, for the photo to be the focal point, and if you look closely you can see in the rear view mirror, the line of cars behind me, and well as the line in front.
I then punched the circles, and added them to the layout, and embellished them with the super cute Making Memories clocks and other random trinkets.
Challenge #7 is all about the number 7, using 7 in any way you want, a list of 7 things, or 7 random facts, etc...
I chose to showcase the craziest 7 years of my life, the first 7 years of my relationship with Jim. We had a crazy whirlwind courtship, wedding, three babies, and buying and selling our first house in the span of those seven years!
to create the hidden journaling, I punched scalloped circles with my Marvvy Giga punch in card stock and in patterned paper. By layering the card stock and PP, and securing it with a brad at the top, I created little hidden journaling spots.
I embellished the scalloped circles with more of the Making Memories clocks, and other jewels and punched butterflies. Each scalloped circle reveals journaling about the year it represents.
And a just for fun layout...I did a super quick two-pager with the pics from Joey's V-day party last week, I love when some pages just come together fast!
Also, one more little piece of scrapbook related news...well okay, it's not little!
